What is Reiki Energy Healing?
Reiki is a Japanese word. Translated Rei can mean soul or spirit.
It can also be translated as spiritual wisdom, or higher knowledge. Ki translates to mean Universal Life Force Energy. This life force energy is referred to as chi by the Chinese, prana by the Hindus and Ruah by the ancient Hebrew scripture.
While Reiki is a spiritual practice, it is not attached to any religion or doctrine. Reiki is a quiet, receptive prayer form; that will balance you on all levels and assist you in your personal and spiritual transformation.
Each time a practitioner touches another person the Reiki energy activates. The practitioner disengages from their ego and becomes an empty vessel allowing the energy to flow through.
The five Ethical Principles of Reiki are:
- Just for today, do not worry
- Just for today, do not anger
- Just for today, honor your parents, teachers and elders
- Just for today, earn your living honestly
- Just for today, show gratitude to everything
The Reiki Energy session is a one hour; the client will lay on a table (fully clothed); the practitioner will lay their hands on the Reiki points on the client’s body; allowing the Universal Life Force Energy to flow into the body. There is no conversation between the practitioner and client during this session.
